Kaweco
Kaweco has been making writing instruments in Germany since 1883, and has spent a good deal of that time perfecting the art of being small. The Sport, its best-known pen, is short enough to vanish into a shirt pocket when capped; post the cap on the end and it becomes a full-length pen. The octagonal cap stops it rolling off the desk, a small courtesy you only appreciate on the day a round pen doesn't.
